78, passed away on October 5th, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Santa Catarina, Cape Verde Islands on October 15th, 1939 to the late Joao Gomes & Domingas Silva Pinto Gomes. Domingos immigrated to the United States in 1985 where he worked at Providence Metalizing Company as a welder for 20 years. During retirement he focused on small business ventures (real estate rentals) and watching after his grandchildren. He was a loving and giving man who supported various charities and the Cape Verdean community in RI. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and an avid boxing fan. He will be remembered for his generosity, kind spirit and sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Etelvina L. Gomes, his 5 children, Maria Germana Gomes of France, Eunice Gomes, Samira Gomes-Hill (Edward L. Hill III), Jassira Gomes (Allen Corry) and Steven J. Gomes (Jennifer Gomes), three sisters, Alcinda Gomes and Elvira Gomes,and Maria Gomes of Cape Verde Islands, 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Pedro Gomes

Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 11th, from 5-8pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave Lincoln, RI 02865.
His funeral will be held on Friday, October 12th at 8:30am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church; 21 Traverse Street, Providence followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
